I would suggest Rock Cornish hens, about 1 pound and $2 each. Brocolli spears, with a mild cheese sauce and some basmatti rice. Add a couple of crescent rolls and a simple green salad and you have quite a meal. Can anyone suggest quick, good recipe ideas for a romantic dinner for two?
A very easy and delicious recipe for pasta with alfredo sauce:

1 bar of cream cheese

1/2 cup butter or margarine

3/4 cup parmesan cheese

1 cup milk (you can use more or less depending on how thick you want the sauce to be)

Garlic powder, salt %26amp; pepper to taste

8 oz. pasta

Cook pasta to desired tenderness by boiling according to directions on package.

In the meantime, cut the cream cheese into cubes, add the butter (or margarine), parmesan and milk to a large skillet. Cook over medium heat until smooth.

Drain the pasta and pour it into the pan with the sauce. Stir until the pasta is evenly coated.

You can add chicken or shrimp if you'd like to add some protein. Shrimp is my favorite. :)

Serve hot with garlic bread and maybe a caesar salad.

If you're feeding more than 3-4 people you will probably want to double the recipe.
a cheese fondue, bottle of wine
baked spaghetti,chicken alfredo,sides:breadsticks,or salad
Shrimp Scampi--very quick to cook!

Baked Potato-- spices added to Sour Cream

Cole Slaw made with purple cabbage, baby carrots, a dash of sugar, mayonaise and prepared Horseradish!

Crab Ravioli in Creamy Tomato Sauce Recipe courtesy Sandra Lee

1 (6-ounce) can lump crabmeat (recommended: Bumble Bee)

1/2 cup ricotta cheese

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 (12-ounce) package wonton wrappers

1 egg, beaten

1 cup milk

1 (1.3-ounce) package creamy tomato sauce mix (recommended: Knorr)

2 tablespoons butter

Chopped parsley, for garnish

Drain crabmeat, reserving liquid. In a small bowl, combine crabmeat, cheese, and Italian seasoning. Brush a wonton wrapper with the beaten egg. Place about 1/2 teaspoon crab mixture in the center, and fold wrapper diagonally to create a triangle. Press edges to seal. Transfer to a flour-dusted baking sheet. Repeat until all of crab filling has been used; this should make about 32 ravioli.

Bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, combine milk and reserved drained crab liquid over medium-high heat. Whisk in sauce, add butter, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring frequently, for 3 minutes. Keep sauce warm over low heat while you boil the ravioli. In batches of 8, drop ravioli into boiling water. Cook for 2 minutes, or until ravioli rise to the surface. With a slotted spoon, carefully transfer ravioli to sauce. Repeat until all ravioli are cooked. Divide ravioli equally among 8 plates. Sprinkle with parsley and serve.

Order in a delicious meal for two from a Thai or Chinese restuarant, or any other. Many good restaurants will let you have two portions in your own plates to take home.

No slaving over the hot stove and you'll have time to get beautiful and have enough time to warm everthing through while you makes small talk.

This is a good tip for dates that have to go off well for girls who don't cook for a living.
