There actually are cookbooks specially for you! Go to your nearest Barnes and Noble or other quality bookseller and ask the clerk. Believe me, they won't make fun of you. And some of those cookbooks are no more than twelve to fifteen dollars. They're really worth the money, if ya ask me!
Simple is to go buy cake mixes!! There is no such thing as low or little calories in cake!! Dream on!!

How many cakes are you two needing for a party?? One cake will serve about 18 people unless you are wanting few calories and so make the servings smaller than 3 x 3 inches or 1/12 of a layer cake.

your store bought cake mixes are about as simple as you can get, and there a good variety to chose from. the majority of your calories are in the icing. you could also use these mixes to make cup cakes and provide a variety of topping choices so that everyone can top their own cup cake.
