It's a fun and wonderful idea! I have no idea of your cooking skills but I do think Italian is the way to go. I keep thinking of Lady and the Tramp movie where the 2 of them are having a romantic dinner of Spaghetti. Spaghetti can be so delicious. My family loves the whole wheat pasta and fresh grated parmesan, meatballs(either from scratch or buy some from the refrigerated meat dept--just do not buy frozen ones) along with a great salad-Olive garden sells their delicious dressing to take home(and it's in a pretty bottle you can have on the table) and garlic bread. Folded napkins and pretty table settings, music, candlelight and red wine--sounds very romantic!
My no name recipe: Chicken

Two chicken breasts

flattin chicken breast but putting them on a plate and pressing down on them with another plate

on the ';bottom side'; of the breast sprinkle the following seasonings:

chives

parsley

Basel leaves

paprika

Then put about half a hand full of shredded mozzarella cheese down the middle of the chicken long ways (cheese should be tight together)

roll the chicken into a ball and place on a greased baking pan with the seam down (the pan should be deep enough to be taller than the rolled chicken breast). The breast will look like its going to come un rolled but it won't

top the chicken with traditional pasta sauce sprinkle Italian herb seasoning and mozzarella cheese.

Cover with tin foil and bake at 400 for 20 minutes

I usually serve with a side of spaghetti with traditional sauce and garlic bread

to make garlic bread i use french bread sliced to the size I want them put butter and garlic powder (lightly sprinkled) and bake at 400 until toasted.
How about steak and a baked potato? With some salad? Pasta dishes are nice, but then you have garlic breath...plus slurping up noodles isn't sexy, lol.
